Volunteer Museum Exhibit Interpreter
The Dome at the SMV
I was a volunteer exhibit interpreter at the Virginia Science Museum for over 20 years.
I staffed exhibits like the Computer Lab exhibit and the IMAX Dome Theater.
I was awarded the Director’s Award by former Director of the SMV, Dr. Walter RT Witchy, during the Volunteer Recognition Dinner and Awards Ceremony in 2004.
I received four other awards from the SMV, each award was for 5 years of volunteer service on the 20 plus years that I volunteered.
The was an article on me in the SMV Newsletter, QUEST, on page 9 of the Oct Nov Dec 2009 issue.
I was a volunteer exhibit interpreter at the Virginia Aviation Museum for over three years.
I talked about exhibits, checked visitors items in the shop and assessed with the assembly of kits for museum staff to use with student groups.
